Tongass Historical Museum
Located in the heart of downtown Ketchikan, the Tongass Historical Museum preserves the heritage and culture of Alaska’s “First City” with a slew of historical exhibits. Museum exhibits are frequently on rotation, with past exhibits including names like Voices of the Wilderness, The Art of Terry Pyles, and much more.
The permanent exhibit on display, the First People, showcases a variety of Native Alaskan artifacts from surrounding Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian communities. Special events are frequently hosted at the museum as well, giving guests plenty to see and do during their visit.
