Cape Krusenstern National Monument
Found north of the Arctic Circle and north of Fairbanks, Cape Krusenstern covers 70 miles of coastline on the Chukchi Sea and the Arctic Ocean. Today, the area serves as a reminder to the cultural history present for the past 5,000 years and the importance of the wetlands to the world's migratory birds.
Visitors to the park have the opportunity to see rare wildflowers, tundra shrub, and shorebirds who visit from as far away as South America. This wild frontier also offers the experience to engage in kayaking, fishing, backpacking, and wildlife watching.
